Government publishes coronavirus site guidelines

The Government has published detailed guidance on operating sites safely, as construction work resumes across the UK.

It is one of a number  of new health and safety guides aimed at various sectors, to help employers, employees and the self-employed minimise risk during the coronavirus pandemic, as they return to work.

The Government guidance complements the existing Site Operating Procedures issued by the Constuction Leadership Council several weeks ago. You can download both documents below.

Government Covid-19 safety guidance

Business Secretary Alok Sharma said:

“This guidance provides a framework to get the UK back to work in a way that is safe for everyone. These are practical steps to enable employers to identify risks that Covid-19 creates and to take pragmatic measures to mitigate them”.

A return to work for some sectors

The latest detailed sector-specific guidance comes as some people prepare to go back to their places of work, in industries including construction and manufacturing.

It is the very initial stage on the Government’s “roadmap” – the plan for easing the country out of lockdown  and into economic recovery without compromising public health.

At Liquid Friday we welcome this as a positive step for all businesses and individuals financially impacted by the pandemic.

We are here to support our contractors and agencies with all types of assignment, so don’t hesitate to pick up the phone.

Whether you are back to work or still at home, please stay safe.
