Liquid Friday is now SafeRec Certified!
At Liquid Friday, we’ve always believed in doing things the right way and being open about how we do them. At a time when the umbrella sector faces increasing scrutiny and rising expectations around transparency, SafeRec certification is a natural progression of that commitment, reinforcing the high standards and integrity we’ve built our name on.
SafeRec Certification – what’s the big deal?
SafeRec Certification is the UK’s most robust and transparent compliance standard for umbrella companies, bar none. It combines independent legal expertise with real-time payslip and RTI auditing, alongside full supply chain visibility.
This isn’t a badge awarded lightly. To achieve certification, Liquid Friday has been comprehensively reviewed across our contracts, processes, policies, company structure and ownership, ensuring every aspect of our operations meet the highest compliance benchmarks.
Real-time Auditing. Total Transparency.
SafeRec certification goes far beyond a periodic audit. Every payment we make is independently audited in real time, directly at source from our payroll software.
- Every payslip and CIS statement is individually cross-referenced against the RTI submissions sent to HMRC.
- All RTIs are reconciled with Liquid Friday’s HMRC tax account.
- Payments are verified before and after submission, ensuring accuracy at every stage.
This layered approach gives complete visibility and removes uncertainty, for agencies and contractors alike.
What this means for agencies
In today’s regulatory climate, supply chain due diligence has never been more important. Post April 2026, the buck stops with the agency if their umbrella company is not doing everything by the book. With this pressure of accountability, SafeRec Certification provides agencies with independently verified assurance that payroll is being processed correctly and reported accurately.
All agency partners receive a detailed monthly supply chain report, giving them clear, documented evidence of compliance, strengthening their risk management and protecting their reputation.
What this means for contractors
For contractors, seeing that we’re SafeRec certified brings clarity and confidence. Every worker receives a weekly individual audit report confirming their pay has been processed correctly and that the deductions on their payslip match up to what is being reported with HMRC.
Integrity meets innovation
SafeRec certification is also integrated within our Stride platform. Consultants can instantly see a worker’s compliance status within the same system they already use to onboard and refer their candidates, track assignment status and manage engagements.
Liquid Friday’s CEO, Colin Gunnell, explained how the technologies align:
“We’ve built our business on a foundation of doing things the right way – putting transparency, accuracy and compliance at the heart of everything we do. Achieving SafeRec certification reinforces that commitment, but it’s also about innovation. By baking SafeRec directly into Stride, we’re giving agencies real-time compliance visibility within the same platform they already use every day. It’s about combining integrity with technology to give our partners absolute confidence in every payment we process.”
In a complex and evolving market, certainty matters. SafeRec Certification reinforces our position as a trusted and future-proof umbrella partner – one that doesn’t just talk about compliance, but walks the walk.
We’ll be contacting all of our agencies directly to walk through exactly how SafeRec works, the reporting they’ll receive each month and the independent evidence available to support their supply chain due diligence.
