Who needs to apply?

If you are an EU citizen, resident in the UK by 31st December 2020, you and your family members must apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.

Important!

  • Even if you have lived in the UK for many years or have a permanent residence document, you still need to apply.
  • You do not need to apply if you have indefinite leave to remain or enter, or you are an Irish citizen.
  • The online application checks your identity and UK residence, and asks you to declare any criminal convictions.
  • If you have already applied and been granted pre-settled or settled status, you don’t need to apply again.

Apply online now

Applying for the EU Settlement Scheme only takes 10 minutes and is free of charge. You should have your passport or ID card and your National Insurance number to hand.

For your workers paid through Liquid Friday, you don’t need to do anything; we do all the requisite checks, for both umbrella employees and CIS subcontractors.

We have already written to all of our EU citizens advising that they need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme by 30th June, and we will issue further reminders as the  deadline approaches.

Applying only takes 10 minutes and is free. Our compliance team will also be on hand to help with any problems or queries experienced by contractors.

Free Guide

For workers you are engaging directly, from the 30th June you will need to carry out appropriate Right to Work checks and retain evidence. This may include proof of settled status or a visa within a valid UK passport.

We have produced a simple guide to engaging EU workers post-Brexit. It outlines the new rules and responsibilities and the steps we are taking to ensure you and your supply chain remain compliant.
