The only way is up! – Welcoming our new team members

We all know that the last 24 months has been challenging for businesses and people alike, Liquid Friday has been focused on serving our contractors and clients throughout this period by both facilitating the much-needed furlough scheme and continuing to support thousands of key workers whilst on their assignments.

This focus on exceptional service and creating a real home for contractors has meant the continued growth of the business. This expansion in operation has enable us to partner with local Jobcentre’s and provide an opportunity for 10 new team members to join our business via the governments successful kickstart scheme.

Joe Taffurelli, our Head of Group Operations says, “I am so proud of how the business has been able to welcome so many new team members over the last eight weeks. Sharing our success with as many people as possible in Portsmouth is an important aim of the business and creating rewarding, fun and skilled jobs for young people is a priority. Welcoming 10 new team members was a real challenge but one my management team and I have enjoyed, and we aren’t stopping there. We have recently created a further six new roles which we hope to fill over the coming weeks.

The governments Kickstart scheme is a real success story at Liquid Friday, the scheme has given us access to a fantastic pool of candidates who are hungry for an opportunity, and we are more than happy that so many of those we met at recent events have chosen to make their home at Liquid Friday. The government’s recent announcement to extend the kickstart scheme is welcome news as businesses across the country recover and create more opportunities for those aged 16-24.”

One of Liquid Friday new starters, Matthew Bissaker who has started an exciting new role within our Payroll Team says “I’ve really grown over this past month, it feels like I’ve accomplished more in this month than I have done over this past year. It’s a real welcoming environment with people my age so I never feel left out and more importantly, I never feel lost. It’s such an amazing community which always offers a helping hand when I’m stuck to where it feels like a family. Liquid Friday is always expanding and improving every day and I’m honestly excited to see where it goes and where it leads me. There’s always room to improve yourself within this company. I’m thankful for the kickstart scheme, I was struggling for months to find anything so when it only took a day for Liquid Friday to interview me, I thought it was too good to be true. Well, here I am. Life’s short, process payroll.”

Jonasz Jurczyk who has recently joined our industry leading contractor onboarding team says “Since my start with Liquid Friday, I have been introduced to seeing myself in a completely different work environment than I have been previously used to. Along with the encouragement from our irreplaceable team it has provided me with utmost confidence in my ability and furthered my motivation to better myself in every task that I undertake. Being provided the opportunity to grow alongside the business fuels my desire to see what the future holds.”

We are excited to continue to grow our business within Portsmouth continuing to add real value for our clients and the local economy. Portsmouth North MP, Penny Mordant comments “Many congratulations to all those on the Kickstart programme and to Liquid Friday for providing these opportunities. It has been a tough time, but we are a resilient bunch. All good wishes as you build the recovery for your business and your clients”

We are committed to continue our strategy for growth over the coming years and will continue to provide great career opportunities for everyone in the area. Portsmouth has proven to be a great home for our business over the past decade and we are excited about the future for everyone.
