{"id":1857,"date":"2017-05-19T13:41:32","date_gmt":"2017-05-19T12:41:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liquidfriday.co.uk\/?p=1857"},"modified":"2017-05-19T13:41:32","modified_gmt":"2017-05-19T12:41:32","slug":"apsco-survey-shows-recruiters-are-confident-of-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.liquidfriday.co.uk\/apsco-survey-shows-recruiters-are-confident-of-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"APSCo survey shows recruiters are confident of growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1856\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/article-images\/2017\/05\/office-pen-calculator-computation-163032-300x205.jpeg\" alt=\"APSCo\" width=\"383\" height=\"262\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Data from <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Association of Professional Staffing Companies, APSCo, has indicated that professional recruitment leaders remain assured that their businesses will grow over the next year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Such was the conclusion of a survey carried out as part of APSCo\u2019s Growing Together campaign, an initiative to support growth and drive success across the professional recruitment sector over the next 12 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Key findings of the APSCo survey<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The survey was commissioned to help APSCo understand the issues and barriers associated with growth in the recruitment sector in 2017. Here are some of the most insightful findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While 30% of respondents believe that Brexit will have an impact on financial performance, 85% believe growth is on the cards.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50% predict fewer permanent vacancies as clients \u201cwait and see\u201d over Brexit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">44% anticipate an increase in contract assignments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">98% said that talent, and \u201cfinding the right people\u201d, is key to growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">57% cited the need to upskill their workforce as the main barrier to growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">40% of respondents are planning to review their business strategy in response to Britain exiting the EU.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Brexit is the word<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Predictably, it was clear from the survey data that Britain\u2019s leaving the EU is at the top of recruiters\u2019 minds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accordingly to APSCo\u2019s Chief Executive Ann Swain: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt is unsurprising that the impact of Brexit is being felt by the professional recruitment sector. However, it is encouraging that business leaders are pre-empting possible consequences so that they can flex and adapt in response.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nShe continued, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe may well see a drop in permanent vacancies, and a subsequent uptick in contract roles, but professional recruiters are nothing if not resilient and the most successful businesses continually respond to market demand.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Proud to be an APSCo affiliate<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-744 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/article-images\/2014\/08\/apsco.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"112\" height=\"133\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apsco.org\/\">The Association of Professional Staffing Companies<\/a> is a trade body dedicated to representing the interests of the UK Professional Staffing industry.
