The team at Liquid Friday is like a well-oiled machine with everyone having their own part to play. This month we catch up with Jon Gardner for an insight into his role as Financial Controller.

How long have you been at Liquid Friday?

Tell us a bit about your role

I look after the Finance team who take care of the company’s back office finance requirements. I liaise closely with the rest of the Liquid Friday team as I prepare the monthly management accounts. I report to Nicola Anderson, our Chief Operating Officer.

In your view, what makes Liquid Friday stand out from the competition?

The business is highly focused on compliance in adhering to the strict FCSA standards. The team makes our contractor employees’ experience as pain free as possible.

In your view, how are things for contractors out there at the moment?

The umbrella industry was hit hard by the introduction of the  SDC rules  back in April. CIS assignments are increasing. It seems that work is out there but it gets ever more challenging to service the recruitment agencies, employees and contractors as HMRC bring in new legislation. 

What do you enjoy most about working at Liquid Friday?

The people. It’s also a top notch location to work.

What do you do for fun / outside the office?

Loads of family and friends stuff. I have 2 kids – a boy of 14 and a girl of 11, so they keep me very busy!
I enjoy reading, TV (mostly sports and movies), eating and drinking. I also play a bit of golf (although I’m rubbish!)
