Celebrating the Jubilee!

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, join us in raising a glass to Her Majesty with three special Jubilee and Liquid Friday-inspired cocktails!

The Liquid Friday Minty Gimlet

gimlet

We’ve put our own twist on the classic sour gin cocktail.

5 mint leaves (more for garnish)
2 large measures gin
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon sugar syrup

Add fresh mint leaves and gin to a cocktail shaker. Muddle a bit until the leaves are crushed. Add the lime juice and syrup and shake with ice. Pour into a glass and add a splash of soda water if you fancy it. Garnish with extra mint leaves.

The Red, White & Booze Margarita

RWB Margarita

A bit more elaborate this one, so best prepared and served early on in your celebrations!

Red layer
Ice
60ml tequila
30 ml triple sec
60ml grenadine

Blue layer
Ice
60ml tequila
30 ml triple sec
60ml blue curacao

White layer
Ice
60ml tequila
30ml triple sec
60 ml lime juice

In a blender, blend the ingredients for the red layer and divide evenly into two glasses. Repeat with the blue and white layer and serve immediately.

Liz’s Fizzy Limeade

limeade

Fresh and zesty, this virgin cocktail is perfect for non-drinkers and designated drivers.

10 limes
200g caster sugar
1 litre bottle soda water

Chop the limes (skin on) and put in a blender along with the sugar and 100ml of water. Whizz up until the mixture is broken down into a pulp. Pass it through a sieve, so you get all the lovely juice. Have a little taste (if it is too sour just add more sugar). Transfer to a large jug with lots of ice and top up with the soda water. Add some lime slices and a couple of mint sprigs.

Happy Jubilee!

Congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on an amazing 70 years on the throne!
